Mikko was ever so helpful when it came to present opening.

Now we attempt to get a photo of him smiling showing all his teeth. He’s been doing it for a few weeks but never in front of a camera.

There we go! All eight of those chompers.
Just a slight jump to later in the day, when Mikko gave Alrik his birthday present: a frog that sticks out its tongue.
It was a hit!
Mikko participated in every step of the cake-making, from cracking the eggs to measuring the ingredients to stirring and pouring and decorating.
Look at the gleam in Mikko's eyes. There's a born pyro.
Good thing big brother is here to help.
Then we just sat back and watched Alrik go.
Mmmm.

I cannot believe he's ONE! Where did the year go?! Alrik is such a cutie and Mikko is a great big brother.
BTW...Love those "That's Not My..." series books. Each of my kids have enjoyed them.

Even though my baby turned a year old, and I know Alrik is almost the same age, for some reason it still surprises me that he is one! Second (and third, etc) babies fly by faster, I think.

Happy Birthday to your sweet little one and happy birthing day to you! I always feel the first birthday is more about the mamas celebrating their first year as a mother to this little being than about the party, cake, etc. Rightfully so! Such cute pictures. Looks like fun had by all!
