Brothers by the autumn tree

Every autumn, we take photos in front of
a sweet maple tree outside our home
as the leaves change colors.

Mikko: 12 years
Alrik: 8 years
Karsten: 4.75 years

Snow day!

We're not used to snow around here, so we've been snowed in.

We're trying to enjoy it while it lasts.

Snow is yummy.

Fishy fun & mammal merriment at the aquarium

Library pass in hand,
to the Seattle Aquarium we go!

This was Karsten's favorite part:
matching orca trading cards.

and her sons Double Stuf and Cookie.

Tidal pools are splashy!
I'll point out that Alrik is advertising
his self-designed merch (#notforsale).

Marine Mammal Mania meant lots of fun activities.

Alrik swims with the jellies.

Choo choo! Conducting the Santa train

Up to Seattle Center to see the Christmas decorations at Winterfest,

We bought a baby Christmas tree for Mikko's first Christmas, so we did the same for Alrik and Karsten. Here's how their measurements are keeping up over the years.

First, a look back: 6-month-old Mikko's baby tree.

2 and a half years old

3-and-a-half-year-old Mikko with his now bigger tree.

Fall delights: Bouncing, hay riding, & pumpkin picking

Every year, we head to the pumpkin patch
with our little pumpkins.

Trick or treat, smell my feet!

We've got Owlette, a Power Ranger, and a Halo dude.
Mikko's never played Halo, but he found the helmet at a thrift shop
and rightly thought it was cool.
Alrik's pose is on point.

Sam's a princess, and I'm Spider-man.

The helmet lights up!

Karsten kept exclaiming, "I love Halloween! Halloween's my favorite!"
He couldn't believe the windfall of strangers giving you candy.

Happy Back to (Home)school!

We enjoyed our annual trip to the bowling lanes

to celebrate our first day of (not) back to school.

For those counting, we're now in fifth grade,

first grade, and (un)preschool.

You can tell they're homeschoolers by their uniforms, hey?

I love me some rented shoes,

and I'm digging the silver toes

on this shiny new pair.

Yes, we once again had balls stuck

partway down because

the kids rolled them so slowly.

But we don't go to be good at bowling.

We just have fun.

Hay, there: Fun at Remlinger Farms

Every couple years, we score a Groupon to Remlinger Farms
and head out to Carnation, Washington, for some hay-based fun.
