Wordless Wednesday: Horses, bears, and gingerbread

boy on carousel — Christmas downtown Seattle meetup holidays
We went downtown with some friends to ride the holiday carousel
and partake in ogling festoonery.

I'll credit them by linking them to her site.}

Nothing says the holidays are here like a balloon sword.

Happy Hanukkah!

We visited the hotel with the famous Teddy Bear Suite …

… where we got to witness a blatant display of naughty-list sexism.

Miners Landing gingerbread house — Christmas downtown Seattle meetup holidays
I did like this edible replica of one of Mikko's favorite waterfront haunts.

Alrik was also a fan.

Then it was time to run to another hotel to see the gingerbread houses on display.
Well, some of us ran. Most of us walked.

Brothers Grimm fairy tales list — Christmas downtown Seattle meetup holidays
How many of these fairy tales have you read?
If you want to brush up, might I suggest my favorite translation and
recommend you start with "Hans My Hedgehog"?
HI-larious (and not listed here — oversight, I'm sure).

Aladdin — Christmas downtown Seattle meetup holidays
Aladdin and the sultan's palace

Little Mermaid — Christmas downtown Seattle meetup holidays
Little Mermaid (and keep in mind this is all edible!)

Beauty and the Beast — Christmas downtown Seattle meetup holidays
Beauty and the Beast

Narnia — Christmas downtown Seattle meetup holidays
Step through the wardrobe into Narnia and meet with Father Christmas.

Alice in Wonderland — Christmas downtown Seattle meetup holidays
New-school Alice in Wonderland

Vintage Alice and the White Rabbit.

I have to say I think it's amusing that this sweet-toothed display is
sponsored by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation …
and that they give you a candy cane when you enter.

Then the boys and I were set loose to figure out our bus ride home
with altered routes and without a smartphone handy.
And we did. Yea!

Oh wow, what fun! Those are some seriously impressive gingerbread creations!

And...um...maybe the candy canes were sugar-free? :x

@Joella, nope, but they did have calorie information printed on the package.

Awww... so precious! I can't imagine taking a bite out of the Gingerbread house, though, and messing it up.

@Anna W: I do wonder if they ever actually get eaten!

Beautiful pictures. I love the top carousel picture and the baby wearing. The new school Alice in Wonderland, I believe, is from the one with Johnny Depp. Thanks for sharing! :)

what a fun looking place to visit for the holidays! Looks like it took a balloon to finally coach a smile out of Mikko. Nice weather for looking at everything too.
Have a wonderful Christmas & Hanuka Season!
