Christmas Eve, we all get to open one present.
Per his request, we made sure Mikko got a toy!
Alrik, on the other hand, was quite happy with a new book from the
book exchange we did with our NPN buddies!
Just need to highlight Alrik's fashion sense.
He picked out this outfit himself:
his brother's Hawaiian shirt, a hoodie I'd put away with other newborn clothes,
and his fedora. Of course.
The boys got in some Play-Doh time!
Mikko also helped Sam bake and decorate …
… these festive cookies!
Our good camera lens died (again!!) at this point.
(This is the fourth time it's broken and had to be sent in for repair; I'm irked.)
So Christmas was handled with our point-and-shoot and was a wee bit blurry.
After the boys went to bed, I got to play Santa and put the presents around the tree.
Love that role!
Christmas morning in matching jammies (and reindeer baby leg warmers, natch!), "opening" the Star Wars Angry Birds app Mikko had been coveting.
How times have changed since I was a kid!
(NB: Sam's the one who's been hogging the game!)
Best. Christmas. Present. Ever.
And all Mikko's idea!
Oh, you couldn't tell what it is? How could that be?
It's the complete daytime outfit for Billy Cranston,
the blue Power Ranger from the '90s! Of course.
Overalls, blue stripy shirt, and gold wire-rimmed round large glasses.
I swear to you Target had the latter;
Mikko had been confident they would. I was shocked.
I was so pleased Sam wore his new duds most of the day, despite the fact that
I thought they made him look like the homicidal caretaker in a horror movie.
(Mikko did suggest dyeing his hair blond….)
A none-too-shabby second place: Sam's gift to me!
(He also got me a lovely necklace and another cuff later!
Can you smell that? I'm spoiled.)
My mom's top-secret dip … mmmm!
And our meal of Paleo pulled pork (figuring out a new recipe —
needs tweaking, but it was fun to try!) with roasted apple.
The family shot!
Mikko's five and a half, and Alrik's 19 months. Hard to believe how fast this year has gone — but it's been a wonderful one!
Wishing you and your family all the best in 2013!
You'll also love photos of Dentist Visits over at Natural Parents Network. Our visits have been rather traumatic (sigh), but it's an interesting topic to see visually!

I am laughing at your comment on the Power Ranger alter ego outfit. Lovely bracelet.

What sweet children to get you that bracelet. My boys were stoked to get me a Star Wars R2-D2 phone cover. Haha! I use it with pride...although secretly I like my purple one better. :)
