Join us as Natural Parents Network celebrates World Breastfeeding Week, commemorated in more than 170 countries worldwide August 1-7.
We invite you to come along with us:
- Read the posts on breastfeeding that will go live this week.
- Write your own breastfeeding-related posts, and link them on the bloghop.
- Share the word about World Breastfeeding Week! Grab the code below to paste at the end of any blog post you're linking up to tell others about WBW and encourage them to read all the shared posts.
WBW promotes breastfeeding awareness and education. The theme for 2012, the twentieth World Breastfeeding Week, is Understanding the Past — Planning the Future, as we all commemorate 10 years of WHO/UNICEF's Global Strategy for Infant and Young Child Feeding.
From the official site:
Twenty years ago, the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) launched its first World BreastfeedingWeek (WBW) campaign with the theme: "Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative." So much has happened in these 20 years, it is time to celebrate but also to look back, understand what has happened and why. Then plan what more can be done to support all women to be able to optimally feed and care for of their infants and young children.
Let's look back and forward as we give our thoughts and experiences about breastfeeding for this year's WBW!
Share your posts in the linky at the bottom, and grab the code from the box to use on your own page. Simply copy and paste the code (in html) at the end of any breastfeeding post.
You can add new or old posts about breastfeeding to the linky. The linky will update automatically on everyone's sites as new posts are added throughout the week!
