Wordless Wednesday: Christmas here & there

Hobo Mama wants you to know she's a professional blogger! Look at how professional she's being!

Here is a taste of the merriment we've been enjoying this season.

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
We went with a group of friends
to see the fantabulous gingerbread houses downtown.

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
They're built entirely out of candy
as a fundraiser for juvenile diabetes research,
which always makes me chuckle.

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
Nursery Rhymes was this year's theme:
Here's poor London Bridge falling down,
with Humpty Dumpty in a precarious position.

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
We appreciated the decorated Christmas trees at another hotel.

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
The kids loved the Teddy Bear Suite.

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
I now want a sparkling birch canopy.

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
Alrik napped (thankfully!) through the outing.

On to the carousel!

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
It was very cold, so Alrik finally woke up.

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
Family in a snow globe!
The tickets benefit a cool charity that helps foster kids
shopping for outfits to donate later was a fun giving experience
for Mikko and me to do together.

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
Into a warm mall for different fake snow!

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
I met a reader while we were here — that was fun!

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
Shannon took these family ones!

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
Boots out for Nikolaustag!

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
Sankta Lucia Festival at the Swedish Cultural Center

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
If only we had an oldest daughter
… but apparently we can have star boys!
Mikko had a blast frolicking around the tree
while the rest of us danced to Swedish folk songs.

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
I'm still hard at work on my Christmas presents.
Shh…don't remind me how little time I have left.
I still have to mail a lot of them!

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
This is what I decided on for my craftsy 11-year-old niece:
DIY jammy pants!
I added in this sewing book and hope she can handle the project.
She made the boys pirate aprons this summer that are so cute!

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
O Christmas Tree!

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
The cats love the ornaments. A little too much.

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
Making snowman handprint ornaments for the grands.
We tried this last year, and it was a bust —
glad the boys are more amenable this year!

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
Sam made this sculpture of our family — aw!

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
Getting photos and letters ready to send!

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
Making our own gingerbread (graham cracker) house!

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
Intricate architecture

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
We each made a snowman. This is mine.

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
Mmm…icing.

Hobo Mama: Christmas here & there
It looks just like those ones downtown!

What have you and your family been doing to celebrate?

I've got a babywearing giveaway that ends TOMORROW: a Didymos DidyTai baby carrier from Caribou Baby — ARV $190 {12.19; US/Can}. The DidyTai is a cross between the stability of a woven wrap and the convenience of a buckle carrier, so check it out!

I'll be taking off from blogging to enjoy the last week before Christmas (and get the rest of my presents ready!), so I wish you all a very, very merry Christmas and hope you have a wonderful and restful time with loved ones this season!

What great photos! I love the life size snow globe and making your own tree baubles! We made our first house this year, out of gingerbread. It was sticky but great fun! Have a lovely Christmas! :)
