Wordless Wednesday: Nursing mother and child

Breastfeeding mother and baby British Museum London

Breastfeeding mother and baby British Museum London

From my last, pre-baby adventure in London — you can see babies were on the mind. I was actually pregnant at the time I took this, though I lost that baby to miscarriage just after we returned from our trip, making my memories of the excursion necessarily bittersweet.

I love the realism here of this lovely mother and baby, and how nursing in public must have been taken for granted in the days before Hooter Hiders.

Of course, the latch-aware part of my mind is telling her to get her lower finger out of the way! :)

I really love this picture. It brings back memories (and a few tears under the surface) of what it was like when my babies were little. Ah, time flies.

I love this art! It looks so realistic. I agree about her finger being in the way though....must have been a man's work? LOL!
