Best Easter picture ever.
And I'm not saying that only because it's the first time
we've ever gotten a non-screaming photo with a big costumed holiday character.
I'm also saying it because Alrik has unintentional bunny ears,
both boys had the dirtiest pants in history due to a day sliding down hills,
Mikko had spilled his drink all over his shirt,
they both were covered in potty-training stickers
(I give them out like candy, deserved or no),
and Mikko was super-duper proud of how big he smiled.
It's really just perfect!
Easter morning meant finding all the chocolate eggs I'd hidden away
(a family tradition I'm happy to carry on).
Mikko had so much fun that he decided to hide some for us, too!
This guy ate every one he found.
Neither was all that great at spotting them,
which means there are still plenty hidden here and there.
Mikko had forgotten that Easter baskets exist
and was enchanted when I drew back a sheet I'd had covering theirs!
One of his favorite items was something I made sure to include:
Scotch tape!
He can't get enough of that stuff.
Alrik the butterfly!
My sweet mother-in-law sent the kids a huuuuge box of goodies,
including this bag for the one-on-the-way!
The cats got an unplanned Easter bonus when Sam moved their treats
down low enough for one of them to jump onto the counter,
snag the bag in her teeth, and drag it out to the living room.
I figured such enterprise deserved some reward.
Feast your eyes on this and try not to get jealous.
Mikko set out to prove he's a better chef than Sam
and baked me this delectation in the microwave, all by himself:
melted Reese's Pieces and Goldfish crackers, with a secret ingredient: Pez!
(I ate it.)
I saw this egg spinner
and thought it might be less mess than our typical dye experiences.
(One year we dyed the table purple.)
I'd say it was less mess though not mess-free.
The kids had a blast choosing colors & spinning, at any rate!
And we're still eating up yummy deviled eggs
from Sam's ah-maz-ing recipe!
Hope you all had a fabulous Easter!
