Here are some of our pics from Instagram!
(We'd love to have you follow us: @HoboMamacom & @PirateFamilyFun.)
You can read here how our gecko adventures
were child-led lessons in themselves.
I love how excited they get about books!
And trains. And books and trains.
Gotta play to the crowd.
The Zoob S.T.E.M. Challenge set has been a hit!
I definitely recommend it for engineering-minded kiddos.
Alrik's been delighting in all things numeric lately!
We'd been talking about tall tales, so this was perfect.
We have plans to sew a bag and blanket soon,
so I thought a bit of hand-sewing practice was in order,
sans needle for the first bit.
Let's hope this is not what their sewing looks like.
I love our library, and I love that we can port interesting sites onto our TV now!
Yup. This is my exceedingly-high-amounts-of-separation-anxiety child. At 8.5, he's finally willing to attempt this at least, though he was quite emotional as Alrik & I left.
When he came out of class, he walked up to me with a grin and said,
"We can do that again." Woot! Fist pump! Hurrah!
We always do Life of Fred during his brother's gymnastics class.
It's a ton o' fun, and I'm learning a lot about math!
(Here's my review of the series!)
We're reading bits about ancient history from The Story of the World here and there.
I like how engagingly and age-appropriately it's written.
I heard the activity book (which we don't have) has instructions on mummifying,
and I thought that sounded neat. No one else agreed.
We decided on a free month of Netflix
and then paid for one additional,
so we're trying to use it to the full.
We found this cool show called The Story of Maths (British!)
so have been learning a lot of history and math in one!
I'm starting to understand why math nerds are so excited about math, heh heh.
Click to enjoy!

I love these photos! We use NetFlix quite a bit in our homeschool, but I had never heard of The Story of Maths--I will have to check it out. We also read Life of Fred sometimes, although we just started so are still on Apples. Thanks for sharing!
It is so nice to run into other homeschool bloggers. I do a monthly spotlight on other homeschool blogs, if you would be interested in being my March Spotlight I would love it! Here is the last one, so you can see what it is like and fill out my contact form if you are interested: http://drops-of-learning.com/blogger-spotlight-minivan-ministries/
@Miranda Gonzalez: So cool! I love connecting with other homeschoolers. I'm checking out your spotlight series right now.
